Suddenly, I have a red power? symbol in the top left corner of each of my photos. Also, my photo doesn't focus on the screen when I open it up. This is happening in Organizer.

Hi Leslie,
Red icon on left top corner of images indicates that the images are offline. By offline I mean these images were located on CD/DVD/Network drive/pen drive when they were imported in Organizer. Now the source of import is disconnected and Organizer is showing red icon on image thumbnails.

To remove this, you need to connect the source of import . That is, open the properties of the image having red icon. Determine the path from where these images were imported and connect the drive to the system. As soon as you connect the drive back, this icon will be gone.

Please let me know if it doesn't work for you.

I have the same problem. I transferred the images to the Elements organizer with the intent of having the images stay in the organizer. Why can't the image stay in the organizer without having the memory card in the slot of the computer?

Organizer only points to where the images are, it doesn't contain any images, itself. If you want the images to persist after removing the memory card then you need to copy them to permanent storage, i.e. your hard-drive, before removing the memory card.
