Since today's blog about the future of Carousel did not mention anything about where in a workflow Carousel fits in, I would like to ask if the Adobe staff (who I assume use both Lightroom and Carousel) about how we can achieve to easily add new photos from Lightroom to Carousel and ensure that updates photos in LR also gets into Carousel.

You're correct in recognizing these issues. Right now Carousel will not know you have simply updated an existing photo that you re-adjusted and re-published from Lightroom. Such a photo would show up in Carousel as a second instance of the photo, and you'd have to manually delete the initial instance if you wanted it gone.

For now, what Rob recommends above is the way to do it. But we hear you that this is too much work, and we're working on making this simpler, reducing the number of steps, and avoid the consequence of ending up with multiple instances.
