Lightroom 4: error while Reading Preview Cache

Neither LR4.2 or LR4.3rc succesfully opens; both versions exit the init process and a comment window deploys that declares program has to close because "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time it launches." It never does recover. Using Windows-7, sp1.

Disregard, I got over it. I opened LR by simultaneously simultaneously right click plus ctrl keys. That produced a window that allowed me to select a different archive to open LR4.3 with and that did open the app in good health..

Well it worked, it was just annoying to have to use an older catalogue and have to import several folders again. Lets hope it does not happen again. Glad I do not use the Lightroom Cataloging and put my images into folders on my hard drive so do not have to rely on virtual copies etc.

This is not ok, we shouldnt have to open an old catalogue, in doing so we lose newly added presets. I would like adobe to take over my computer and fix the issue so I do not loose my presets. Thanks.
