ELEMENTS - Re-implement the ability to edit .tga files

Hello, as someone who has loved using Photoshop for some time now, I was very disappointed when I started editing textures for games and came across targa files. Apparently in the earlier versions (10 and below) this was supported. In 11 and later however there is no support for targa file types. I've now had to go and download GIMP as it is able to edit the files I need.

I would love to continue using Photoshop for all of my needs, however it's impossible to do that when some of the file formats are no longer supported. I would love to see the targa file type support re-implemented, and I know I wouldn't be the only one. After searching the internet I've come across multiple people who have looked into editing targa files only to be told they need to download plugins and other workarounds. I would really like to hear some feedback on this so if anyone else has any thoughts or reasons it is no longer supported I would love to hear it.

Photoshop still opens and saves TGA without a problem.
That hasn't changed in 25 years.

I'm not sure why you believe it requires additional plugins.

Yes, that would be an important detail.

Was there a solution to this?  I'm having the same trouble.  I was hoping to change to Elements from PSP, but this is going to be an issue.
