Hi, when I want to switch color profile in CS the quick way (on Mac) I have to:

1) launch Bridge;
2) hit Shift-Command-K;
3) manually select desired color profile;
4) jump back to app I was using previously.

Four steps that could be single one one with help of some tiny app (Bridge extension) sitting in OS’s status bar offering just switching between (among) user selected (or all available) color profiles.

I wanted to get fellow programmer to create an app just for this but hit the wall, finding that CS apps wan’t allow me to access critical piece of data I wand to modify.

I’ll (I believe beside many others) welcome little Bridge extension accessible in status menu that wil just switch the color profiles. Please do it for us.

I only have CS5 and CS6 installed, but Edit > Color Settings works just fine in Photoshop and individual images can be assigned a profile or converted to one () – so I’m not quite sure what you mean.

Edit: Are you really talking about CS (Photoshop 8)?

Hi Chris, oh I see I did’t use the right term. Sorry and thanks for your remark. I’m talking about switching color settings (not profiles) for all CS apps at once (not assigning profile to file nor for switching profile for one app in a time).

When working on a project I usually jump between Ai, Id and Ps apps so it comes in handy to have all apps’ color settings synchronized before I start (Web/Internet for web or screen design, Prepress for print design).

OK, I misunderstood.

I’m not sure if it could be automated with a Script, but maybe you should ask over at

Thanks for tip Chris. I checked the site and faoud the scripting way is impossible unfortunately. I asked two programmers already and they both confirmed, there’s no way to perform such a task from outside the Bridge. I believe, the best way will be Bridge extension/enhancement by Adobe.
