Quick Mask Tool CC 2019 always feathers selections

I use quick mask to select a main subject and create a layer mask. This is then used to blur the background with the selected subject remaining sharp.

Since upgrading to PS 2019, I cannot get the quick mask to keep hard edges! It is so frustrating! I do not want any blurring of the edge, but a solid contrast between the main subject and the background. I have used CS6 for years and never had this problem.

Does PS 2019 not allow a hard edge selection with quick selection anymore?

Do you have any ideas?

Legacy tools are checked on.
Feathering is 0%, Contrast is 100%.
The brush used in the selection is 100% hard.
Sample all layers is unchecked. ( same with checked )

Any help would be wonderful!
Cheers!

Could you post screenshots (including the pertinent Panels etc.) to illustrate the issue?

And have you tried Select > Subject yet?

What exactly are you using to make the selection? Are you sure you're using a brush? Is there opacity?

Hi guys! I realised I had my opacity lowered! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! I feel like a twit for asking!
