Lightroom Desktop: Questions about the new Versions function

I'm really pleased to finally see the versions function in Lightroom. It's been the main feature that I've really been waiting for.

However, I'm not sure I've got the point of it here, it seems very cumbersome to use, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to view all the versions, other than in Edit mode.

Is there any way to view the different versions in the normal browser, or put the different versions into a separate album (as I did with Classic)? At the moment I can only see that it displays the last selected version before you exit the Edit mode.

Or, am I missing the point all together, and Versions does not equal Virtual Copies?

It's a start, but not something that is useful if it's working as designed right now.

It's also not immediately obvious how you create each version either. I had initially started by creating the new version, then trying to apply edits (as I did previously in Classic). Of course finding that this didn't work. Once I realised you have to apply edits to an existing version, then create the new version, it works, but doesn't feel like a natural way to do it.

Best regards

Andy

Versions are more like Snapshots in Classic.

Aha, thanks Victoria, that makes sense. It's not a feature I used in Classic.

I was hoping it'd be something like Virtual Copies. Oh well, the wait continues.
