Question on hierarchical keywords (LR-Classic) and how they sync with smugmug ?

I have a question on ligthroom classic hierarchical keywords and how it works.  I have a structure like the following example in my keyword list

-people
 -- person1
 -- person 2

- places
 -- location 1
 -- location 2

Here is the question I am a little confused on.

even though I have a hierarchical keywords list/Keyword tags  like above, when i click on a picture in LR classic it just shows the key words listed like this underneath keywording flatted out

person1, person2, location1, location2

Then when I drag the collection to be published in smugmug, (I really like that my keywords go with the pictures). It takes the entire hierarchical structure instead of just the tags I have selected.

So instead of just the following going up smugmug

person1, person2, location1, location2

I get this in smugmug

person1 | person2 | location1 | location2 | people | places

Anyone know why that is and if I can prevent that from happening ?

Yes, if you right click your keywords you will see that there are several options including whether to have it export or not. You example appears to have them all set for export. You should be able to do a search and learn able the specific options.

In your keyword if display it sounds as if you are viewing “assigned” keywords. There is a box there that allows to to view “keywords that will export” which would include any of you hierarchy that is set to export.

This topic can get pretty deep but there is a ton of information available on the net. The system
Itself works really well other than the automatic ordering they keywords go through on export.
