I installed the first Lightroom package which is supposed to be Lightroom CC, in my understanding. Why are the tutorials for Lightroom Classic, and is there a difference with the way they work?

Ok, you’ve entered the most confusing topic of the past decade but in a nutshell, LR CC is the cloud based version (alias Lr cloudy). There’s a desktop app that works almost seamlessly with the mobile app. Although it’s the cloud version, you can store your files locally. It’s the more recent version and still lacks a lot of features that the Classic version has but it has a more modern interface and it’s users are mainly amateur photographers. If you are serious about desktop file management and prograde features, then the LR Classic is the one for you. One thing I would say is to use one or the other. More info on the two here..
