What OS version are you using? Did you install the 2015.0.1 update?
What does the detailed crash report say (all of it)?

I'm using windows 7, there's no crash report it's just gone! Disappears in a flash. hmm I don't remember installing an update, shall I do that first?

If it crashes, the OS creates a report - look in the system event viewer or reliability reports.

ok so I'm trying to install the update now, but I'm not given the option either in Photoshop / Help, or through my creative cloud Apps list.

If I look under Help / About ... it definitely says '2015.0.0 release'

Can you help... Huge thanks

So you haven't been able to install the update. Quitting and relaunching the Creative Cloud app usually refreshes it's update information.

But make sure you are running Photoshop from the normal location, and a not a backup copy (which wouldn't be updated) or some other copy in a different location.

It looks like you possibly a Creative Cloud Team account. Your team lead may have updates disabled. Check with your IT dept or whoever is admin for CC Team account.

O yes that sound likely, it's a faculty wide license. I'll hunt someone down this morning. Many thanks for all your help Chris and Jeffrey! Fingers Crossed..
