Elements Organizer - Searching for Place on Map Fails

While adding a place tag to photos, the search functionality becomes non-responsive. I hit search and nothing happens. It will work once, maybe twice, but returns nothing after this point. I thought it might not find the locations (which I usually receive an error message for, but..) I even searched for known locations, my city, state and my home. It does nothing. I also thought i may be my internet connection, however I can use a browser to locate the place on Google maps within seconds. I am using PSE Organizer 12 and am running OS X 10.9.1 with all of the latest updates applied. PSE was not an upgrade from a previous version, it was a fresh install. The computer is a month old.

Hi,

Can you please let me know if you can drag drop images on the map? Does doing that causes hang? Or does the hang happen only upon searching using the search box?
Also, can you please try resetting Organizer preferences and then see if the hang goes away?
Here are the steps to reset Organizer preferences in EO-
Goto ~/library/app support/adobe/elements organizer/12.0/organizer and delete status.dat and psa.prf
relaunch Organizer and retry Add Places workflow.

Please see if this helps anyhow.

When adding a new place, I don't see the option to drag/drop photos onto the map. When selecting Places from the top, I can't see the photos I need because they don't have a place tag. From my understanding, the places view only shows photo which have a place tag. The application stops "searching", it doesn't necessarily hang. I can enter in multiple addresses, simple things, like the city I live in. And it does nothing. In the past, if I search for a wrong place, it will give me an error. I've noticed the behavior is very inconsistent - I would think my connection is causing it - however I can search via Chrome for the address just fine. I was able to work in it all morning and it was fine. However now I have to reboot my computer each time I want to add one place. It does seem that searching for a format, such as '23715 U.S. 50 Monarch, CO 81227' will cause this to happen. That is copied from google maps and probably includes whatever chars it brought over via the copy/paste - including a carriage return.

All in all, it still acts the same. I also cannot find those files in the folders you listed. I tried searching for the files and cannot find them. Are they hidden files of some sort?

I figured out why it doesn't search.... i tested the carriage return theory using another application. If you copy/paste text that has a carriage return in it, it does nothing. It also breaks the functionality for any future search. You may want to update that field to handle that error better.

I was able to drag/drop onto the map by selecting the media and navigating to the general area. However, the address is 100% wrong. Not even the same city. I am trying to add 23715 W Highway 50 Monarch, CO 81227. This is the physical address for the Monarch Ski Resort in CO. I can google the address and it pulls up just fine. Is there a way for me to report incorrect data in your address database?
