I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere 9, from Version 7 and the new PSE 9 is missing a very key option that Version 7 had. In the new PSE 9, when you creat a slide show, then output, there is no longer a widescreen option. You could create beautiful widescreen with perfect aspect ratio for 16:9 TV's. But, with PSE 9, the "Send to TV Option in the Output window is now gone, so there is no way to creast a widescreen slide show in PSE 9!. In this day and age when everyone has 16:9 TV, and only the old standard 4:3 option is available?? That is a shame and not what I expect from Adobe. Please fix this problem.

The "Send to TV" option was a method of previewing your slideshow on an external monitor. As such, it was designed to allow video playback on TV so that it could be recorded with a VCR. As the VCR is a completely archaic technology, the "Send to TV" option has been deprecated.

We are moving into a world where the TV is no longer king (widescreen or otherwise), so the output options for slideshows are more about sending them to Premiere Elements for mastering. There you can output your video in Widescreen for DVD, Blu-ray, and even optimized for mobile devices (which is the true future of media playback).
