Photoshop Elements: PSE 10 Font Sizing Errors

I have been using PSE 9 for about a year now and upgraded to PSE 10 yesterday. Suddenly when I create a text box in PSE 10 the font size is totally out of whack. Although my criteria for a layout are the same in both programs (300 dpi 12 x 12), when I open a layout created in PSE 9 (with fonts sized at 12pt and 80 pt) in PSE 10 the same fonts show up as being 80pt and 400pt to achieve the same sizing. If I try to type anything in 12 points it is so tiny it is illegible. How do I fix this????

At the far left of the Options Bar when the Type tool is selected is a small down-pointing arrow. Click the arrow and select "Reset Tool".

Thanks Ken - I had tried this and it didn't work. Luckily I found the answer on another message board. I had to delete my PSE Preferences file which had become corrupted and now everything is fine again.
