PSE 10 Catalog Problems

Hi Folks - I had a computer crash a while back so I purchased a new laptop and installed PSE 10. I use an external hard drive to store and backup my images. I was able to do a backup (Apritl 22, 2012) on the old computer which had PSE 9 installed. When I install PSE 10 it picks a previous back up file (March 11, 2012) that is missing a month of images. I am stymed on how to proceed.
I tried to deactivate, uninstall and reinstall PSE10 but it automatically selected the March 11 backup which is missing the images.

I'm not sure I even need to do this but I figured I need to convert the April backup from PSE 9 to PSE 10 before I try anything else but I am unable to select the April backup in the catalog manager in order to convert it.

I am not sure how to restore/update the catalog to get the missing images. Do I use restore catalog and if so do I restore to "Original Location" or "New Location" or "New Location with the Restore Original Folder Structure"? Do I restore the catalog to a new folder and then delete the folder with the March 11 images? Do I restore the catalog using the March 11 folder in order to recover the missing images?

Is there another process I should follow in order to get a complete catalog?

I would appreciate any help and suggestions - Thanks Bill
