Elements: PSE 10 Can't save PSD to PDF - gives program error (Win)

I'm a relatively new Photoshop Elements 10 user, but I've saved PSD to PDF many times with no trouble until now. I thought maybe my file was corrupt somehow, so I recreated it from scratch, and I still get the same error message. What am I doing wrong?

Where are you saving the file? The desktop? Can you save to different format to the same location? Wondering if it's a file format issue or a permissions/network error.

Yes, I can save JPG and PNG to desktop, but not PDF. I'm on a home PC, so no network issues.

Were you ever able to save to a PDF? Can you create a new document without text layers and save a PDF?

May be a bad font. Or may be a problem with preferences.

I'd troubleshoot both.

Try these steps to fix most issues: http://bit.ly/Troubleshoot_PS

Thanks, Jeffrey. I hid all the font layers and it let me save a PDF. Then I added the layers back one by one to see which font is the culprit -- it's Narkisim (used for "FORTE GRAPHICS" in the screenshot). This font came loaded on Win 7 -- I didn't install it manually. Any suggestions besides "pick another font"? ;-)

Not other than duplicating the layer and rasterizing the text layer.

I've asked the Elements support and engineering team to take a look at this to offer a better solution/fix.

I've confirmed the behavior. This issue is tied to a number of fonts. Basically there are two families of Hebrew and Asian fonts that cause this issue (Narkisim is a Hebrew font). I've verified that this issue occurs on both Windows and Mac when these fonts are used, and also that the issue has been around for several versions of the application.

It's taken a while for anyone to run into this particular combination of font and file format, but now that we know there is a problem we can look into getting it fixed.

I don't see a workaround besides what's been offered so far however.

Thanks, Jeffrey & Brent. Rasterizing the duplicate text layers worked! However, now the blue "F" symbol is missing some color on the PDF (PSD file is ok). Any idea what caused that?

Update -- I rasterized a duplicate "F" layer like I did the text layers, and now the PDF looks fine. Thanks so much for helping me work around this font issue!
