During a recent internet service outage, could not get PSE7 to load a photo into the Editor workspace. Editor hung up, then shutdown. When internet service was restored a few hours later, PSE7 Editor worked fine. Does Editor have to communicate to Adobe or some other website to work??
No, that is pretty strange for something like that to happen. Many of our customers have no internet connection (or work in an environment that the internet is extremely restricted).
It may just be a coincidence, or a result of something else on your system running into an issue that carried over into Elements.
The only reason our products would silently contact the internet is for the activation that occurs during the first launch. If you do not have an internet connection, you are informed of such and the product enters a trial mode until activation can be completed.
We would never purposely cause the applications to crash.
