PSE10 Content Panel shows multiple copies of shapes

PSE 10: CONTENT PANEL : By Type : Shapes :
Panel displays up to 4 identical thumbnails per shape included by Adobe as .csh files in Locale/en_US/Photo Creations/shapes and also in Support Files/Presets/custom shapes.
However, I have added further .csh files to both locations and rebuilt MediaDatabase.db3, and only these new shapes appear correctly as 1 thumbnail per shape, unlike the original shapes.

You also need to re-build the thumbnail database file. Set Windows Explorer to "Show hidden files" and rename or delete this file:

"C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\ThumbDatabase.db3"

Many thanks for your help.
Sadly, rebuilding both ThumbDatabase.db3 and MediaDatabase.db3 did not resolve the problem on my Mac version of PSE10.
Perhaps the problem may be caused by the existence of THREE sets of .csh files included in the software for Mac:
Set 1:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/10.0/Locale/en_US/Photo Creations
Set 2:
9 of the original 24 files in this set are this set are larger(!) than in set 1:
Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 10/Support Files/Presets/custom shapes
Set 3:
this set also contains .metadata.xml files and .thumbnails folders (containing JPEG images of shape numbers such as 'Nature 25')
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/10.0/Photo Creations
Conclusion:
Seems inefficient to have three sets of the same .csh files, and odd to have 9 variations in what should be identical files! Leftovers from PS CS software design?
I think the best solution is for me to ignore the problem, and only use the Custom Shape Picker, not Content Panel, to select shapes.
Thanks,
Peter
