PSE 14 Photo Editor is printing black vertical lines on my photos. When I print out the same photos on PSE 11, everything is fine. (sharp, clear and representative of what's on the screen). PSE 14 in best mode prints at the speed of Fast Draft. I am using an HP Photosmart Premium C310a printer and HP Premium Plus Photo paper. I am using Windows 10, but this problem started before my switchover from Windows 7. It began after I switched to PSE 14.
I have changed out the print head on the printer, updated the drivers. I have done 27 trials changing from Printer Managed to Application Managed - I lose the vertical lines, but my photo is very dark - nothing like how it printed on PSE 11 (I have had beautiful pictures print out on PSE 11, the pictures that print out on PSE 14 are not as sharp and clear and are very dark.) On the Application Managed trials - when I selected Best or Maximum DPI, the printer responded by taking more time to print and I got no vertical lines. As another test, I printed out the same photo from PSE 14 on a different HP Printer OfficeJet Pro 8600 and got the vertical lines (printed on best quality) and it printed out as if it was on Fast Draft.
I have un-installed and re-installed PSE 14 to no avail. I was able to print from PSE 14 Organizer and I get a reasonable facsimile to my printout from PSE 11 and in Best mode the print time is increased as expected and no black vertical lines.
I'm getting very frustrated, but my analysis, I feel, points to a specific problem with this program's interface.
