Original issue: "PSD file not compatible with this version of Photoshop"

Problem: Files not opening after saving them. Tried different locations, servers, etc.
hardware: Mac Pro (late 2008) software: AdobeCS5.5/PS5.1

After Adobe Suggestion (Try these steps to fix most issues: http://bit.ly/Troubleshoot_PS): From the 1st link, I did another update of my CS and "Restore Preferences". I discovered from here that my Library folder was hidden/missing. Apparently after an auto update of the Lion OS my library folder "disappeared". I found a fix online, "Missing Library folder in Mac OS X Lion" http://www.fixkb.com/2011/08/missing-..." here I fixed the missing library folder issue and went back to Adobe's http://bit.ly/Troubleshoot_PS and completed the instructions. After such, my Photoshop now allows me to open and create psd files from yesterday and today (YEAH!), but any files created the day of the update cannot be opened. (considering that I couldn't successfully reopen anything the last two days, I consider today's success a small but invaluable win.)

Thank you for following through Adobe.
I am attaching the zipped preferences file as soon as I find the option for it. Looks like there is no option to upload a .zip file.

Hi Vincent, thanks for doing that. I'll send you an email and try and get those prefs from you.
