PSD files do not fully save anymore

PS CS6: I've been experiencing my files not saving fully. I will be working on a file and after a day of work I will save the file and go to sleep and the next day the file will not have been saved fully where I left off, it will have lost a bit. I have made entirely sure that I am saving so that is not in question(I save and watch the progress bar as it goes to see that it is fully finished). This has happened several times with files on external hard drives and on my computer's hard drive so I don't believe it is an issue with my storage media. This is a major issue-PS not saving a file fully before closing is costing lost time. I've also noticed that on occasion it does not ask to save before closing a file that has not been saved. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Have you installed all the updates?

Which OS version are you using?

What do you mean by "lost a bit"?

I just checked the update list in the manager and all that PS didn't have was Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6: 3.0.3. I'l update that now but is that why it wasn't saving properly?
Windows 7 OS.
So if I'm working on a file I'll save every 10-30 minutes and what has been happening is at the end of a 'working session' I'll do my last save on the file, watch it fully finish saving and then close PS. When i come back to work the next day I'll open the file and it won't be saved at the correct point...example: Ill save at 630pm and continue working then I'll save again at 7 and finish for the day...when i open the next day it will be at the point that I saved at 630 rather than 7 which was my last save. it's as if PS isn't registering my last save even though I have waited for the progress bar to fully finish saving before closing. That's what i mean by 'lost a bit'

What is the actual, complete version number on Photoshop?

Photoshop can't save older versions like that.
If you get an autorecovery file (like if you crashed on exit), it might be a bit older.

But the file you saved has to contain the exact bits that were in the document when you saved.

Version 13.1.2 X64

It was not an auto recovery file.

What's happening isn't normal. I've never had the issue before in CS6. I will continue to troubleshoot what I'm doing differently that's causing this but there is something that has triggered it to behave this incorrect/undesirable way.
