PSD Corruption on save after using healing brush

Using as of today the most recent version of CS6 on a windows 7 platform

I scan 8x10 negatives. Files are near 1Gb. I have often skies that require a lot of touch up in the sky due to dust or faults in the film. I very often save the scan as a PSD file and find that I am unable to reopen the file. I get the "cant open with this version error." If you would like a file or two I have them.

I use the healing (bandaid) brush to do this task.

Most likely the brush isn't the cause - and you may have problems with your disk, especially if this is happening often.

Only happens in this instance.

All others ok.

May have dozens or tens of dozens of brush usage.

But other users aren't seeing anything like that. So there's something else going on, most likely specific to your system or configuration.
