I have updated to the latest Photoshop 21.1.5 for Mac and  and I still don't see the preview of the image but only the photoshop icon. Even importing the psd image into illustrator does not preview, thanks

Curious about what you updated: 21.1.5 does not exist so far as I am informed. Could you have purchased a fake?

Have you been using Zoom,  Valeria? If so, take a look at this article.  That odd update number you posted raised my suspicions about it.  https://www.zdnet.com/article/hackers-target-remote-workers-with-fake-zoom-downloader/#ftag=CAD-03-10abf5f

In Photoshop first go up to: Preferences - File Handing, and you have to put the check on Image Preview - Thumbnail

You can also try to uncheck "Disable Compression of PSD..."

Did you try to restart the Finder?

Or Finder Preferences file is corrupt
