PS CC 2014 UI Font Size Can't Be Changed

UI font size in Photoshop CC 2014 cannot be changed using Prefs/Interface/UI Font size, no matter what font size is selected. Too small to use. Monitor is 23" 1920x1080. PS CS6 works fine.

Same with me. I have the previous PS CC running in parallel. This doesn't seem to work properly. Wacom tablet settings are also not recognized. Would be good to have a bugfix quite soon ...

About the tablet: If you are on Windows 8, make sure Ink is enabled in the OS settings. If you are on a different OS version, then check with Wacom for updated drivers.

Thanks for your help. I'm an Win 7. What is Ink? Will it help to deinstall PS CC (64 bit)? I'm a bit hesitant right now ...

Ink is Microsoft's tablet interface. No, uninstalling CC won't do a thing. It sounds like you need to contact Wacom.

You're wrong! De-installing PS CC and re-installing the Wacom driver solved the issue ...

Hi Robert,

What OS are you running? Win7, Win8, Mac OS?

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

Windows 7 SP1 64bit up to date. But I have to tell you I was considering CC 2014 and this issue made the choice for me. I have since uninstalled CC 2014 and will be staying with CS6. But if you have an answer I would like to know as a friend is having the same issue after upgrading from CC to CC 2014. His computer is also Win 7 Sp1 64bit. By the way, these are custom built desktop PCs.

Thanks

Hi Robert,

Are you or your friend using the OS's setting for Display Size or Text Size? I ask because Photoshop does NOT overwrite these settings -- we run with them.

To check Display Size, launch Control Panel and go to Display. If it's not 100%, then we obey that size.

Similarly, from this same dialog, click Set Custom Text Size at the left. Is this 100% with the Use Windows XP style DPI scaling checked? If not, then Windows is in control and we're using their settings.

Thanks,
David

My system is similarly set to 125% etc etc., and my UI text is unchanged regardless of PS prefs settings. Joy!

Both use 125%, Windows XP style DPI scaling checked. This setting works with CC and CS6 but NOT with CC 2014. The main complaint is with the Menu fonts. They are simply too small, but not in CS6 and CC. My friend is really upset as it is causing severe eye strain. Is there a way for him to go back to CC?

I would like to weigh in here - I've been fighting with the same issue since the CC2014 release. The UI sizes across the CC2014 apps I use **all** have size issues: Some too big, some too small. The "fix" suggested by Adobe to include a modification to the OS (add UI_SCALE_FACTOR to system variables) is a temp patch, but a bad one.

I haz a sad.

Just out of curiosity, I launched ALL my copies of Photoshop (CS5.1 64bit and 32bit, CC 64bit and 32bit, plus of course CC2014) and the inability to scale the UI fonts in ANY copy of Photoshop applies to ALL versions, FWIW.

David,

Why are the Menu font sizes smaller in CC 2014 than in CS6 and CC 2013?

A suspicious lack of response from the "official employee"... lol. The evidence is clearly mounting that there has been a rather blatant programming error.

Hello,

David.....anyone...David....anyone....Bueller......it's a fairly simple question....

Why are the Menu font sizes smaller in CC 2014 than CC and CS6?

I found this response to my request and it worked:

You can also just increase the size of the font by going to

Edit > Preferences > Interface
Choose "UI Font Size" (Tiny, Small, Medium, Large)
Choose "OK"
Restart Photoshop

Photoshop UI will now display with a different text size. Icons will remain the same. Depending on your machine, 200% might be too big for the number of pixels you have available.

Thanks for your suggestion Barbara but that setting doesn't affect the font size of the menu, unfortunately.

Sorry ..... that, plus the Edit>Preferences>Interface>UIFont size - doing both - worked for me. Fingers crossed for you ....

Edit>Preferences>Interface>UIFont size is exactly what is NOT working with PS CC 2014. Even reinstalling the program doesn't work. I wander for how long they will let us hang with this ...

Yep, I was using a Wacom Intuos tablet with PS CC and it worked fine. All the trouble started with PS CC 2014 ..

PS CC 2014 Menu Font too small.

I upgraded from PS CC to PS CC 2014 and the menu font size is much smaller. PS CC had the standard win 7 menu font size but the font size changed when I upgraded. All my other win 7 programs are fine as is the older versions of PS I still have installed. I tried the UI 200% setting which was WAY too big.
