Hi,
I'm using PS CS 5.5 on a windows 7 core2 cpu 6600 @ 2.40GHz RAM3GB and I'me facing a weird problem. Sometimes when I close an un-named file without saving it first it takes a long time (from 30 sec to 1 min) to appear me the alert box that asks me if I want to save the file. Same kind of thing happens when I try to use a tool on a layer that doesn't support it (e.g. brush on a special object layer) before the alert windows that ask me if I want to rasterize it will take very long seconds. After Googling around I've tried to deactivate the GPU but didnt work, same thing by deactivating the preview always saving option.
Any idea on what it could be? The strange thing is that it doesnt happen always but randomly.
Thank you
Alberto

Something on your system is interfering with Photoshop's normal operation.

Do you have any third party plugins installed? Have you tried disabling them?

Do you have any system utilities that change UI behavior?

Have you tried disabling any third party security or firewall code on your system? (sometimes they can cause weird problems)

Hi Chris,
thanks for you reply was really helpful! We've found out that the problem interfering with PS was Juniper a VPN client and how is it configured. We'll try to find out if possible to fix this.

Cheers

Add that to the list of "how the heck could it do that" external apps that cause problems.

Thanks for the update!
