Photoshop 2018: Can't call up HUD, using Wacom pen button (Windows)

I'm using a Wacom Cintiq 24HD with PS 2018. The Wacom driver is the latest (at time of writing) and I just updated PS with the 19.0.1 patch. The HUD color picker is not showing up anymore with the shortcut ctl-alt-shift-right click when the 'right click' is assigned to the Wacom Pen button. It works when I use my mouse's right click, but I do not use my mouse for my artwork.

I am not sure if this is a Adobe or Wacom issue, it would be nice if it were possible to assign some other combo to call up the HUD at least.

Did you find a solution for this? I've tried reinstalling drivers, using different pens, versions of photoshop etc etc. But I can't seem to get it to work.

Try this: go into Wacom Tablet Preferences and set the pen button to Keyboard > Modifier... (check Ctrl, Left Alt, Shift, Right).  Does that work for you?

This function worked fine for 5 days, mapped to wacom pen button. Today the shortcut brings up the color sampler tool instead and I can't get it to go back to bringing up the HUD picker. Unlike the original poster the picker doesn't come up when using the mouse either.

Found the fix (sorta): Disable the keyboard shortcuts to the color sampler tools. That will make the HUD function re-appear - but it's invisible on the screen (you can see the color change in the foreground square, but the wheel isn't on screen). Then use the mouse to do ctrl+LEFT click, then go ctrl+shift+RIGHT click and.... the HUD is magically back!

and.... 3 days later and it's back to the picker... and the solution I posted above no longer fixes the problem.  GREAT

not sure if this will help, but it's what did it for me. Under Pen and Touch settings(you find this by typing flicks after hitting windows key) there's a "Use the pen button as right click equivalent" checkbox, and that was what had caused all my issues (it had to be checked)
