Hi I just bought the new dell inspiron 15 5000 series. it has AMD Radeon R7 M270 and INTEL (R) HD graphics 5500. When I load PS or bridge etc the warning comes up Display drivers stopped working. The computer will crash or PS will crash. It doesn't happen all the time but a lot. Before I send the computer back I was wondering if you know if there is any known issues with this set up. The computer is brand new 3 days old and everything has been updated etc.

Have you updated your display drivers from the GPU maker's website to pick up all the bug fixes made to the drivers?

Thanks Chris, yes I have. I don't know if this is helping but I went into PS CC preferences and changed performance from advanced to normal. I just checked it is still showing 'display drivers stopped working and recovered INTEL HD GRAPHICS 5500'. I was thinking if it's possible to download an earlier version of PS. I have two versions on my desktop computer both from my CC account. Cheers

I haven't heard of anyone having that many problems with Intel's most recent drivers. You may need to contact Intel and see if something is wrong with your driver installation.

You may have automatic GPU switching enabled, so Photoshop may be seeing the less capable Intel GPU instead of the more powerful AMD GPU. You can usually disable the automatic switching (or the entire Intel GPU) in AMD's driver settings.

Thanks Chris, I can't find it in the AMD driver details or AMD control. I have made PS use maximum power in the AMD control I will keep frigging around and get back to you if I get it to work or not. Much appreciate your input. I will pass the info it on to Dell as well because if I can't get it to work I will get a refund.

Hi Chris, I have written to intel about it no reply yet. I have played around with various setting. I have gone back to advance in performance in PS. I am not getting the above message now but what is happening every time I turn the laptop off and start PS I get this message flash up (attached). Then PS works and doesn't play up again even if I turn PS off and on again while the laptop stays on. Until I turn the laptop off and back on then the attached image shows up for about 15 secs.

PS and windows have stopped crashing which is a good sign.

I have loaded PS up with 6 raw files at one time via camera raw gave them a work over via nik software and PS plugins every thing worked well and fast. The adjusted images all load really well via bridge as long as I don't shutdown the laptop down, if I do I get this message again and then they load. Cheers Chris
