Photoshop CC 2018: Display, saving, formatting issues

I was required to update to 18 through my CC subscription today and I've noticed SO many things that are project-breaking--I'm working on a relatively large piece, and if I try to change the canvas size (need to change the total image size from 72"x30" to 72"x32", not too hard, right?) it shrinks the image to about 20% and fills in the rest of the canvas with black. If I try to change the image size to fit the canvas (using the 72"x32" canvas size) the image size shows up as doubled--144"x64", even though on the screen it's occupying 20% of the canvas size.

I saved this same file as a .png to try getting around this issue by sizing it onto an entirely new canvas, and while the thumbnail looks correct, every time I open it it's crazy distorted (it looks kind of cool, but is absolutely useless). I saw someone else having this issue and it was suggested that it was a driver problem; it is absolutely not a driver or hardware problem.

There's a lot of other little things--everything feels slower, rasterizing has to be done from the individual layer menu or it blacks out my entire canvas, some other littler things--but these are the two most urgent issues.

Per the distortion complaint: the first image is what it's supposed to be, the rest are consecutive attempts to open the .png file:

Sounds like you're on a Mac, correct?

The first issue you describe might need further explanation or a screen recording of your steps (so we can see your settings and the results)

The second issue with PNG is an issue our engineers are working on: (Please add a me too there and you'll get a notification once a fix goes out)

Thanks so much! I'm glad the PNG issue is known! I closed and reopened the program and it seems to have resolved the sizing issue (I don't know why it stuck the last time I tried closing/reopening, but I'm happy to just let it be). Much appreciated!

Hi Christina,

When the canvas becomes mostly black unusable space - would you try pressing tab once or twice and let us know what happens?
