Photoshop CC 2014: File Info can't use old templates

I can't access my File Info Templates as I could in all of my previous versions of Photoshop - since whatever version I started with back in the year 2000 !
Clearly a great number of people relied on this feature that you've now taken away from us. This problem should be reinstated or bug fixed straight away.
The following link outlines the problem well: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6499...
Adobe please fix this !

Howdy PJ,

Maybe I'm not understanding something.  Could you please explain what the problem you're having with importing metadata templates?  I just verified that I can take templates from Photoshop CC and bring them into Photoshop CC 2014.  I'd like to help, but I don't understand the problem.

Thanks,
David

David, the issue is that the drop down button was pre-populated with the latest template used, we now have to click on the button, get to the template name (now that they are listed alongside the import and export button, that was not the case in CC 2014 and the equivalent elements version...

Thanks for the heads up, Pierre.

If I understand correctly, however, the problem is one of semantics.  We no longer have a pre-populated template, but any metadata can serve as a template.  With CC2014 and newer, to create a template you just populate what you want and then export it.  You import it to the file you want and bingo, you're in business.

Or, is there a subtlety with the workflow which I am missing here?  I'm happy to log a bug, but I'm not sure what I would say and without a good case or clear problem, it'll never be addressed anyway.

Thanks,
David

Ok, instead of seeing Template... we were seeing the last template that we used. It was a one click solution to apply the latest template to a new file. I can log it with screenshots, if you want, but we need a metadata advocate to look at things as soon as possible!

With Bridge going HTML5, those issues will hurt way more people as Bridge is more suited for metadata entering than Ps. Please search for "file info" for other related requests, as revamping that panel will be needed more than ever.

But I intend to file several Bugs/Feature Requests on that matter...

Please go ahead and log it, including examples of workflow and productive time lost.  I'm asking for this to make sure the issues get addressed; I'm happy to champion bugs, but I need backup.  8-)

Thanks,
David
