Photoshop CC 2015.1: Breaks clipboard paste functionality from Illustrator 15.2

When pasting artwork into photoshop from illustrator there is no longer a dialogue that allows the user to chose how they would like the clipboard pasted, I want the option to just bring in the paths.

The also resulting pasted smart object looks ok, but when attempting to edit, the smart object opens up in illustrator as a svg description (A text file). This is not only removing part of my process, I was keeping my icons editable in photoshop on purpose, but it also cripples the edibility of the smart object.

I could copy the svg description into a text file and re-import it, then edit it, but that's a huge headache if you stumble upon it after pasting several vector objects into a psd.

That could happen if Illustrator was set to only put PDF or SVG on the clipboard instead of PDF + SVG + AICB (illustrator clipboard, where we get path information from). You can change that in Illustrator's preferences under File Handling & Clipboard.

It looks like Illustrator may have made a change and disabled AICB by default in their most recent update.

That is not the issue, and I had checked that. Also, you ignored my comments about the loss of the old functionality. Do I have to downgrade back to CC 2014 to get it back at this point?

Double clicking on the smart object:

I didn't, I also turned off dropbox, and anything else that started up on login, and restarted. Still behaves as I described above. However, I tried on my windows 10 machine, and it works like it use to, with the addition of the "would you like to add this to the library" option. So MAYBEEEE el cap. I dunno.

hmm, I'm drawing a blank. We'll see if some of our QE can reproduce it, or not.

I didn't = fresh installs on the iMac. No utilities other than dropbox and 1password. Even turned those off, no luck.

I'm having the same issue as Ryder Booth posted above. I've gone in and checked my preferences in Illustrator and Photoshop and they match up to what's above and still having the issue.

Software:
Illustrator: 2015.2.0 Release 19.2.0
Photoshop: 20151209.r.327
OS: El Cap 10.11.2

- When I copy a icon from Illustrator and paste it into Photoshop I no longer get the "Paste as" dialog, it always defaults to a smart object.
- When I double click to edit the smart object, I get the "Text Import Options" dialog in Illustrator then the canvas is filled with the SVG code.

What seems to work, is if you drag a shape from Illustrator into your Photoshop document, you can then double click to edit the shape in Illustrator. Though I'd like to have the copy/paste working like it used to...

I made a document below and asked a colleague to open it and he got the same issue with the code displaying, but when he made a new document and I opened it, I was able to open the smart object normally.
This file should result in the code displaying in Illustrator.

Just remembered this, not sure if it's helpful or not or has anything to do with what causes this error.

I had recently saved out an icon as an SVG in Illustrator, and since then I've encountered this issue. I don't remember if it was an Export or Save As to SVG, but that was something I remember doing right before this error started.
