Everytime I try to do anything like add a gradient or even text, There is a loading bar that says " Progress " and It takes forever to apply anything? Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

I'm using Photoshop CS6 and I'm not much of a Expert with Computers so I don't really know what a OS Version is but I would be very much appreciated If you could explain.

What Operating System are you using?
What version of that Operating System?

Have you installed all of the Photoshop CS6 updates? (check Help->System info for the exact version)

Are you using any third party plugins? Have you tried disabling them?

OK, yeah, a huge document would show a progress bar more often :-)
