Bridge CC freezing on folder selection

Bridge. Freezes on certain folders. Won't recover. Click the screen it turns grey. Close it. Restart. Same issue, same folders.... Now programmers and developers pay attention because I noticed one thing that makes it crash on mine and it has for many versions now. AVI and MOV videos are two that make it crash every time. Possibly others. I have changed the thumbnail process size down to nil to see if it would ignore the files. No. Is it the codecs installed? I should not have to delve that deep. It's a programming bug and someone should see to look into it. Bridge CC seems more prone to it than ever before and with many cameras putting MOV and AVI and other video formats on the SD cards, it will continue to be an issue. Is there work-arounds? There should not be work-arounds, it should be fixed at the software level.

You say freeze, and say crash - which is it?
Those are two very different behaviors, with different causes and diagnostic steps...

An analogy:
Freeze: car won't start
Crash: car exploded

Also, you haven't told us what OS you are using, or version of the OS.

I have the same problem, when I try to use presets for after effects and select an animation or effect on bridge it freezes and I can't do anything I have to force the program to finalize what can we do?
