I use Photoshop for many years now and i don't understand this problem and how to fix it. After searching at google for more then one hour i give up and i hope somewone here can help me out.
Since today i noticed i can't paste anymore text from my mail, text editors,.... into Photoshop. I tought ok, i need to update my PS in the Cloud so i did, now i have CC 2017 but the problem is still there.
I found here that i could start PS with the command, shift and option key to reset, i did the reset... problem still there.
Text i typed in my PS file and i copy and paste (cmd + c and cmd + v) that works.
I never had this problem before! :(
Hope somewone can help me out so i can do my work further for clients. Many thanks

Okay I'm not sure about this but try this. Copy your text paste into a word file or note pad and then to Photoshop. I'm not sure but it might work.

I just copied from my email program, "Eudora," to Photoshop 2017 without a hitch. Are you creating a text box first or trying to paste by starting a text line?

Do you have any clipboard utilities installed? If you run in Safe Mode, are you you able to copy and paste? http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-most-issues.h...

Same issue here. Can't paste copied text from a word doc or email body. Have to paste into an AI text field first then copy from AI and paste into PS. just tried updating from cc2015.5 to cc 2017 but problem still persists. on Mac OS

I don't have Word anymore, but I have no problem copy/pasting from Pages or any email into PS. I also don't have any 3rd party clipboard utilities anymore. I began to have more problems with them than solutions, and got a bit tired trying to find the latest and greatest to deal with it. I'm on Mac, too, but running Yosemite, so that may be a difference in our results. Latest CC 2017.

Um, that post was at least a year ago, according to the time listed. It ought to be removed entirely if possible, but it would have been better if you hadn't called attention to it by replying today.  Any of us ever involved in the thread get emails with your reply, not with the message you've replied to, so all we see is someone who is upset enough to be  rude. We check it out to see what's going on and yes, this poster was  spamming us, but. . . that was a year ago.

I found this article about a similar issue: http://www.proposedsolution.com/solutions/clipboard-working-snow-leopard/.

I use Windows, but found that I had four preferences files in "My Documents\Adobe". I closed Photoshop, deleted all of the preferences files, reopened Photoshop and copy and paste is working for me again. Of course, now I'll have to fix all my preferences.

And when you do, immediately save a copy to another location while the preferences are still good.  Says I, who often forgets to do just that.  <BG>
