Problems installing Photoshop CC 2015 updates on my system

Sadly, I jumped on this update instead of waiting to hear from others. After updating, Photoshop repeatedly crashed so I attempted to uninstall and have wasted the entire day trying to get my system back in working order. The only difference made to my machine in the past week has been installing the PS update this morning so clearly that is the problem. Uninstall via the CC Desktop App failed, uninstall via Control Panel failed, CC Cleaner Tool had errors, reinstalling still crashes even when going back to only installing CC 2015... beyond frustrated at this point.

Everything WAS working just fine prior to this update... would appreciate any solid suggestions or advice as to how to get PS CC 2015.1 back in working order - NOT really concerned with getting CC 2015.1.1

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop CC 2015.1.1 now available..

What OS version are you using?
What does the detailed crash report say?
What errors are you getting when uninstalling or using the cleaner tool? (my guess is a permissions problem on your system, possibly from an OS upgrade)

Something is wrong with the installation on your system, causing the updater, uninstaller, and cleaner to fail. That has to be fixed before the applications can install and work correctly.

I absolutely agree... Just need to know how to fix it. Will providing the cc cleaner tool log file tomorrow help or do you need something else?

Just realized autocorrect mucked up my earlier response. Meant to say that UNInstalling was unsuccessful NOT the installation. Each time it has said that install was successful but the program still froze/locked up so I tried to uninstall and that is what has been unsuccessful

At what point did it lock up?
How long did you wait for it to finish?

And previously you said it crashed. Locking up and crashing are completely different behaviors.

My apologies for using incorrect terminology. It locks up and freezes to where I can't do anything other than go to task manager and end task. This happens upon opening PS, when I try to close a file, when I try to close PS or if I just open it and do nothing.
