Photoshop: Topaz and AlienSkin plugins crashing (CS6)

I have a subscription of cs6. Brand new computer running windows 7. I have attempted to run alien snap art and also Topez. The plugins will start up but when I attempt to run them they crash. I have Colour Efex 4 and I have no problems with that plugin. When I first download a trail version of snap art their support people couldn't figure out why it won't work. So I,m thinking its the plugin. But when I downloaded topaz trial and having the same problem, it's leading me to believe its cs6 for some reason. My drivers are all up to date as well. I have gone into preferences in cs6 and enabled the third party plugin
Has there been any reports of this type of problem?

Have you contacted Alien Skin? They're normally pretty quick at getting things working again.

And no, other than bugs in plugins we don't have other reports of similar problems.

Yes I have and they are very good. There were unable to solve as they think it is a windows issue. That was on my older PC, so I purchased a newer one with a better graphics processor. Still having issues. I'm going to update the graphics driver and see what happens. I can't until tomorrow early morning as I'm on satellite Internet and the file is too big. I don't think it's the plug in as I also tried a different plugin and having the same issues. Strange though Color Efex works perfect.

The only general problems we have are due to third party drivers (like video cards, printers, etc).

But we have seen several problems with specific third party plugins due to bugs in those plugins (this happens with every new Photoshop release, every new OS version, etc.).

Fortunately, the Alien Skin guys are good at debugging, and they have my phone number.

Do make sure you've installed all the Photoshop updates, and updated your video card driver from the GPU maker's website (not Microsoft, not the board builder, not a system integrator).

I updated my graphics driver this morning and still have the issue. The plugins will launch but when I go to apply an effect I get a message that there was a problem then it shuts down. Everything is up to date. It's seems funny at least with snapart I had the very same issue on my old PC. When I purchased my new PC I download straight from the manufacturers thinking I would have all updated plugins. But Color Efex works perfectly. N

UPDATE,
Can't believe this, but I updated the driver on my Wacom tablet and they are now working. Not sure why that would impact the plugins, but I will take it! Lol
Thank you for your responses and input!

Best regards,
Nancy

Thanks for the info. We'll see if we need to follow up with Wacom and the plugin vendors.
