Lightroom: Problem with PDFs exported from Lightroom Book Module

I exported a PDF version of a book produced in the Lightroom Book Module. I can view this correctly in Mac Preview but Acrobat Reader does not seem to be able to get the page sequencing right. The first "grey page" is ignored and double page spreads do not show correctly.

Would it be possible to post the PDF for the engineers to take a look at?

I would be happy to post the pdf if I knew how to! It is a 25 MB file.
Can you please tell me how I post this?

Just to add to the info. The first time I became aware of the problem was when I sent the file to my son who viewed it on a PC

On the Lightroom Forum another user reported having the same or a similar problem.

Many thanks
Peter

On windows try this-
Open the PDF > in the menu select View> Page display> select two page view and show cover page in two page view.
Hope this helps.

Tried it in Foxit Reader on WIndows and it worked.

Does the PDF specs have the notion of odd and even page? Or is this just an arbitraty interpretation of the pdf reader?

I do not have a Windows PC just a Mac so can't try this. However when I sent it to my son this did not help on his Windows based system.

Still waiting to hear how I can post my PDF.

Because the Blurb PDF export does not render the first "end sheet" it means that when viewed in the PDF viewer in "View" ... "Page Display" ... "Two Page View" then adjacent pages are not correctly shown together.

I.e. Inside cover "end sheet" and page 1 should be shown together, page 2 & 3 etc etc.

As it currently is, it does not provide a realistic viewing experience and is incorrect.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Lightroom Book Module - Blurb book exported to PDF creates incorrect page pairing.

I am not sure it's Lightroom's problem.

I can view two-page spreads just fine in FoxitReader, for example. I just have to select the corresponding option in View menu.

Dorin,

You are quite right and I was not aware of the "Show Cover Page ..." viewing option.
For me ... case closed.

Thanks
Alan.

PS - I would ideally like to send a book PDF to people even less IT literate than me and at least ensure their initial viewing experience on opening the file starts in this mode without telling them to do anything more. It would be nice if the PDF itself could contain the initial viewing mode.

This works for me too using Acrobat Reader on a Mac.

So I agree - problem solved.

Rather disappointed I never got an answer on how to post a pdf. What happened to the Chief Customer Advocate?
