Lightroom CC: Unexpected text printing in Blurb book.

I just received a photo book from Blurb that I created with Lightroom CC's "Book" module. In that module it is possible to insert text for selected photos using the "Photo Text" box that appears on many photos. If not explicitly added, no text should print. I did not add any such text in my book for any photos. However, the printed book arrived with the words "Photo Text" printed under several photos. Very disappointing.

I have gone back to Lightroom CC's book module to try to see how I missed these in proofing. There is no way I can see to check within the Book module whether some "Photo text" will print unexpectedly.

I have gone back and tested this. I found that if I click in any "Photo Text" box without adding any text (i.e. just clicking the box), that text becomes activated and will print. However, there is no way in the Book module to see which boxes were accidentally activated.

It would be very useful to show "phantom" text greyed out or something so that it's easy to tell which boxes won't print and which boxes will print.

I also found that by first printing a PDF version, I could see where these unexpected errors appeared. OK -- lesson learned -- always proof using a PDF printed version. But I cannot rely on Lightroom's Book module to clearly show the expected printing. Perhaps add a warning in the Export to Blurb function saying that printing a PDF for proofing is strongly advised.

Blurb graciously refunded the first order. They did say however that the problem was caused by Adobe, not Blurb.

This all cost me an unexpected ~$30+ expense to reorder after fixing the problem. Due to a deadline I had to choose the ~$30 expedited delivery option.

This is a disappointing software oversight I think. I look forward to an updated Lightroom CC version where the book module is more refined from users' experiences. As it is now, it is functional, but not nearly as well refined as other modules.

Lightroom Classic CC 7.5 was released today and should address this issue.  If you don’t see the update in your Creative Cloud App, hit the [Ctrl/Cmd]+ [Alt/Opt]+[R] to force a refresh.

Give the new version a try and let us know if it solves the issue.
