I'm using /Adobe Photoshop Version: 20.0.0 20180920.r.24 2018/09/20: 1193433  x64/ and I have issues with the mask. When I have layer and I would like to apply mask and pint in it with white or black brush, once I use the white brush and then click again on the same  place the program reverse my color to black and then again when I click it reverses the brush color to white and then black and etc. I guess it is software problem. I cannot use my mask properly and I have to try using it with only one click and hold so I can get my job done.

You don't say what OS you're using, but I'm not having a problem with Mac on High Sierra. Have you tried resetting your brush tool using the menu in the Tools panel proxy in the far left of the Options bar? Sometimes something makes a tool behave in unexpected ways—it may have been something even accidentally set and you didn't notice until you tried to use it again in a normal way. Also, if selecting the tool with the normal tool for the tip you're selecting turns the selection box orange, you have a custom setting of some kind, though even Color Dynamics shouldn't reverse your F/B in the Toolbar, if you're seeing it do that too.  I don't know what would apart from the X key.

It's not a problem with PS's release, though, unless it's a problem with an OS. I haven't heard of this one, but that doesn't mean anything. You could have to completely delete your Preferences and start over, but make sure you've saved all your custom presets to the hard drive before you do that. Hopefully, just resetting the tool will fix this.

Hi Albert, if you go to Preferences > Performance.... and check "Legacy Compositing" then restart Photoshop and try your masking steps again, does it work?
