I have a problem installing the update from LR5.5 to LR5.6. The installation program keeps asking me for a destination for Adobe_lightroom_x64.msi (it proposes a destination which is a weird temp folder which apparently doesn not contain such file). Any idea? Thanks! Grégoire

Are you installing from Creative Cloud? Or do you have a perpetual license (serial number)?

Make sure you're using an installer from here if you have a serial #:

Thanks! OK I downloaded from your links but same problem. It happens when the installer says "removing applications". I kind of recall that one one try it seemed to work but I did not have space on the disk, I searched for large files and deleted old adobe_lightroom msi in temp folders. Could that be the problem?

Certainly low disk space on your primary drive could cause problems if there isn't space to download and expand the installer files.

Actually what I had removed were old setup32.exe and setup64.exe to make room in my disk.

I increased to 5GB (did not want to mess with partitions) same problem. I forgot to say that if I cancel the installation (since it does not find the msi in the proposed temp folder) I get: "Error 1714: the older version of lightroom 5.6 64 bit cannot be removed". but the version I have installed is 5.5...

You may want to try utilizing the Microsoft FixIt utility at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/pro... to remove the remaining entries for Photoshop Lightroom

OK I ran Fixit but it doesn't see anything related to LR5.6, only 5.5.. should I uninstall LR5.5? If so is there a way to keep my serial number (I have the disk at home.. somewhere..)

Yes, you should uninstall 5.5. Then install from the links above. You may need to enter your serial again.

OK Jeff, I finally had the time to work on it. I tried to uninstall from
Win7, no success, but fine with FixIT. Then I could install LR5.6 and I did not have to enter the serials again, so everything is fin now, thanks!
