I've never heard of this.   Saving files is a Windows function, not Photoshop.   Explain this in detail.

I open a jpeg file to work on it.  When I try to save the new version of the file, it works through all the screens (naming the file, choosing the folder, replacing the existing file), then tells me "File not found. Check file name and try again."

Howdy Kathie,

Question for you: these files were saved on what kind of media or hard drive or network drive...?  When was the last time that you were able to open the file?  What OS are you running?

Thanks,
David

Hi Dave.... file is attempting to be saved to the computer's C:/ internal hard drive.  The path identifier in photoshop appears to be correct but the error statement is that it cant find the file i am trying to save...not the destination file (?).  Product worked in Win8+ ; upgraded to Win10 and this problem occured.

Kathy,

In what file format are you trying to save your file?   i.e. "steve.jpg"  or  "steve.tiff"?
BTW, version 8 can be installed in 64 bit and won't need compatibility mode to run it.

Having the same problem right now. I've found that saving it to a external drive fixes the problem at certain times.
