Photoshop CC 2017: The edited image isn't updated in a window

The edited image isn't updated in a window. Making different manipulations (switching on and switch-off of a layer, change of its transparency, use of the filter) the image doesn't reflect these manipulations. And, in the beginning everything works, the problem arises after a while. After Photoshop restarting at first works well, then this problem arises again. Video card drivers new. By Windows 10 it is updated. Photoshop CC 2015 works excellently. This problem arose also at my colleague on other computer with absolutely other configuration of the equipment. Change of the modes of the graphic processor,  disable the GPU acceleration doesn't solve a problem. My colleague has absolutely other graphic processor (I have NVidia, he has Intel integrated), he has other system (I have Win10, he has Win7).

This is using Photoshop CC 2018 19.1.1, OS X 10.13.3, MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2016), default Photoshop preferences and Energy Saver settings, no Wacom tablet.

After launching Photoshop, I made a new document and drew a line with the brush. I then used the spot healing brush tool on a part of the line. When I release the mouse, the display does not update (the black area drawn by the spot healing brush tool is still there). I then quit Photoshop.

After a fresh install of PS CC 2018 and following these steps after initial launch the bug does not appear, but after quitting and relaunching the application once, then following these steps, the bug appears again. This bug does not appear for me in the latest version of Photoshop CC 2017.

This is also discussed on: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2447599
On that thread some users have identified that this problem could be related to running font soft ware such as RightFont or FontBase and that the problem goes away when they quit those applications.

Are any of you using RightFont? https://rightfontapp.com

If so, try updating to the latest version: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/document-does-not-update-rightfont-macos.html

Yep, RightFont 4.2. But in the interest of science, since everything is working fine for the time being, maybe I'll leave it. Then if the bug kicks in, I'll update to the newest version and see if that fixes it. Y/N?

Up to you. If you're not having trouble, stick with what you have. You know what to try if it starts to fail

Will do. After all these months wrestling with the issue, it'll be satisfying to watch it go away.

Though it sounds like you've determined that was definitely the culprit? Do we know what was happening?

Do you have RightFont on the new computer? If so, what version? Perhaps those having trouble are using an older version?

Hello Jeffrey,

I have tested a little bit with RightFont 4 and Photoshop. When RightFont is already open and I start Photoshop, then I have this bug with the layers. When RightFont is closed when I start Photoshop, then it works fine. No layer bug.
So, there is something with RightFont. Not only version 3, I’m using 4.

Well, what do you know - I did indeed have RightFont running in the background. I had version 3.3 and upgraded to 4.7. Quitting RightFont seems to have made this bug go away! At least, I can't reproduce it yet. Note that the bug was still reproducible for me with RightFont 4.7 running in the background, and with the latest Photoshop CC 19.1.2.

I wrote the RightFont team. They send me a debug version to test. It works fine with photoshop. The next upcoming version will fix the problem!

RightFont says they've updated to a more stable version (4.9): https://rightfontapp.com/downloads/4.9/rightfont.zip
