Problem on export with LightRoom CC

Hello there,

when I export a bunch of pictures with LR CC, I always have some pictures LR was not able to export, from 1 in a small batch to 20 for 550 exported pictures.

I've tried the very same exports with LR 5.7.1 and it was OK.

Thank you for your answers about this concern !

Same here. When I export, I regularly get an error that the process couldn't be completed because one or more files couldn't be read. If I immediately select the files Lr reporting having problems with and re-export them, it works fine.

It typically happens somewhere in the middle of the export set (i.e. - not the first few files), so it doesn't appear to be a timing issue with devices coming out of a sleep state or anything like that.

Also, my AV is set to exclude both the folder locations I'm working in and the Lr executable itself, so that wouldn't appear to be the cause either.

For what it's worth, I didn't have the issue with Lr 5.x, but I do remember experiencing the same problem in some previous versions.

Jim, the problem described in this thread was fixed a long time ago in CC 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1.   Please do Help > System Info and report the exact version of LR you are running.

I wonder if LR is still building previews for the set of photos and the one that cannot be read is busy being read by the previews thread and cannot be read by the export thread.

Well, it appears that the problem concerns only pictures donwloaded before the LR CC upgrade...

Not! My issue was a fresh Import and then exporting selected finished files. Same group full res and low res for sharing with watermark etc each to unique folders.

I have the same problem. It is a showstopper for me since the errors cause export to stop and my post-processor portraiture is not run.

Same problem! It is not acceptable! So much wasted time trying to get it to work... It's the worst upgrade in LR history (except HDR and panorama features)!

I found a workaround for me. I have to move to a different directory in Bridge before exporting. Or you can leave Bridge entirely before exporting.

Same issue. When exporting a couple files it does not appear to be a bug. When I exported 106 Full Size JPGs and Lower res files. Both Exports failed to export 2 files #5 and #134 in 1 process and #48 and #63 in the other. Another export of 48 full res pano files resulted in 10 files not copied.

I guess I could add to my 5.7 catalog and export from there but that will be a bunch more work. Can only hope the engineers get to work on this. Really messing up workflow.

Try closing Bridge before exporting.

I have not installed Bridge it is a joke compared to Lightroom. I live in Lightroom and then edit in PS or plugins all from Library and Develop modules.

Adobe, closing Bridge is not the answer we want!

298 files is not even a quick fix! At least with 8-10 files I document the numbers in the error report and then go back and re-export and usually finishes the workflow step.

An Adobe-insider said on another thread that a new version of LR would be out "soon" to address various issues.

It is unknown to us outsiders whether this particular one will have been replicated and fixed or not, though, but we shouldn't have to wait too much longer to find out.

This problem is caused by a bug that LR 6 introduced, writing each exported file twice. See this thread for details: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photosh....

You can avoid the problem by keeping file viewers like Bridge and Windows File Explorer away from the export folder until the export completes. Some backup programs may also trigger the problem as well.

With my previous PC I had this problem [and started another thread]. On my new machine with W7 and Lr CC all updated, the same thing happened today for the first time. As this is the topic that gets response I'll add my voice here

I have also just noticed this issue. I have Lightroom 4 on a mac and Lightroom 5 on a windows 10 machine. Today I have upgraded the Mac to Lightroom CC.
Still have the problem.
However no problems at all on the windows machine. This has only happened since I upgraded to El Capitan, since then I have also had hassl s with swp files causing problems with saving and writing to various hard drives and folders.

Any ideas if apple are doing anything about?
