2 Years Ago Jeffery Tranberry advised a fix for this problem, see:
https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/cannot-get-ps-cc-2015-as-a-default-program-in...
2 Years later, I have exactly the same problem with my instalation of PS2017 on Windows 7. Can somebody please advise how to correct this using the regedit option, exactly.
The file extension for my PS2017 is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017

Solved it, you just change the name of the PS application in the Program Files from Photoshop to
Photoshop CC 2017.
