Lightroom Classic 7.3.1: Exporting smaller JPEG from tiff and add to folder taking a long time

I have an export preset to convert tiff files to jpeg, make them smaller, and add to catalogue in the same folder.

Before 7.2, this used to take a reasonable amount of time - a few minutes per hundred images.

Since 7.2, including 7.3 qnd 7.3.1, this is now taking a very long time. Just today, 273 images took 55 minutes. I also used to have a progress bar top left corner, which now seems to disappear half way through the export.

Correction.... more than 55 minutes. I just went back to Lighroom and the export was still going (as I said I couldn't tell because the progress bar is gone).

So it is over 1hr for 273 images. Nothing changed my end, this is done on main SSD where Lightroom lives with about 30% free SSD space and 16Gb RAM on MBP 2016.

... and Lightroom is rendered unusable during this time.

I'm also experiencing a massive slowing down of the whole computer (MBP2015 top spec) while computing previews. All 4 CPU cores are used but until version 7.2 not in that bad manner with slowing down a Mac completely.

Let's see if we can figure out what is going on Thomassen. I would like to try to duplicate what you are seeing.

Windows or Mac? OS Version?
How large is the average Tiff file in your group of 273?
Location of Tiff files? Free space at location?
Location of JPEG exports? Free space at location?
Any export settings (resizing, quality etc)?

Are you syncing images to the cloud at the same time? Running any Person finding operations?
