Photoshop Elements: Can't print a photo on a borderless card (Epson 1400)

I have Elements 8 and cannot get my photo on a card and print it borderless with my Epson 1400 photo printer. I can get the photo on the half of the card I want printed but have a lot of white around it. To even print a photo on a card, I have to copy and paste it on a blank file and then try and use the move tool to position it. Any suggestions, do newer versions of Elements have a better printing function? I think I last had Elements 5 and it was easy to print. Each version seems to get more complicated to print a 5x7 card on an 8.5x 11 piece of card paper.

Borderless printing functionality is up to the printer. Elements itself doesn't have any restrictions for borderless printing. The option for performing a borderless print is in the Printer Driver settings. You can get to these settings from Photoshop Elements by going to the Change Settings button under Step 2 Printer Settings of the Print Dialog, then click the Advanced Settings button. This will open the Printer Driver Settings (which can also be accessed from the Control Panel). Generally, this will be a simple check box option to select. If you don't know how to enable this option, consult your device documentation.

Make sure, while you are in the Change Settings dialog box, that you have the correct Paper Size selected. Then, back in the Print dialog, make sure you have the same size selected in Step 5 Select Print Size.
