When I want to print a photograph, the image in the Print Dialogue box is always low resolution, out of focus... Is there a preference setting I'm missing...

Which version of PS and which OS? I no longer see it on Mojave (Mac). I still see it  blurry on my old El Capitan computer running 2018 (the last version it can run).

Ouch. I can't help you, other than to say if you haven't trashed your preferences in a very long time, now might be the time to try it (after saving any unsaved Presets and/or pulling your Settings file out to your desktop in case it doesn't help, so you can copy it back over the default settings file).  There aren't any preferences I've ever seen that could even very remotely help.  Maybe after the weekend, Adobe will be back, see this, and can help you track down the problem.

It's amazing that no one can figure this out...

It's difficult to figure this out if you can't reproduce it in the first place. I can't either. Did you reset the preferences like Cristen suggested?

I'm relieved to hear that. It's always nice when that run of the mill "cure" for odd problems actually does work. <g>
