Preview building in latest Lightroom CC 2015 is very slow

I'm using a very fast desktop (Win8.1) with multiple ssds and hdds and 32GB ram. I was just making some 1;1 previews of D800 files with LR6 CC 2015 and found that it was taking about 18 secs per image. So I closed LR6 and reopened LR5.7.1 with separate catalog and previews (but the same images) and found that LR5 took 4-5 secs per image, which is about what I remembered. So I closed LR5, reopened LR CC 2015 and ran the build 1;1 previews again on similar files. This time it was only taking 10 secs per image. But even that is twice as long as LR5 takes. Why??? And why was it taking 20 secs per image when I first timed it (after it had been building previews for an hour or so).

Something strange is going on with preview building in the latest version of LR.

Turning graphics card use on and off had no effect, nor had turning Internet access on and off. Sync, address lookup, and face detection are all paused.

In addition, if I create a 1:1 preview by simply clicking on a loupe view in Library, the preview only takes about 5 secs to create - the same as in LR5. In Develop it is even quicker. But in Library/Build All Previews it takes 10-20 secs instead of 5 in LR5. Something strange somewhere!!

1:1 previews are taking 68 seconds each to make. LRCC is unusable whilst it does this, attempting anything else make the app fall into 'not responding'. So my 600 images are going to take 11 hours to process, It was never this slow in previous versions, in fact I hardly ever noticed it doing it. Come on Adobe, you really need to sort this!

I'm also have big performance problems with LR CC 2015 with previews since upgrading to CC 2015. After importing images and letting it settle - sometimes I see LR rendering previews after the import, but not always.

In the library module, when I 'm viewing images I often get "Loading..." for about 8 seconds. LR 5 was MUCH faster. This is even without any adjustments having been made in develop.

Other times I don't get "Loading..." but the image is slightly blurry, as if I missed focus, then about 8 seconds later, it pops into focus.

This performance lag is very annoying. Waiting 8 seconds to view every image is just not good enough.

I'm on a 2011 iMac with Quad core 3.4Ghz i7 and OS X 10.10.3. The library and preview cache is on SSD while the raw files are on a mechanical drive. I've had this setup forever and LR 5 was much quicker. I hoped LR CC would be even faster, but instead it's MUCH slower.

GPU acceleration in preferences makes no difference.

You need to update to the latest CC 2015.1.1 release which fixes this slow rendering, at least it does on my machine. Still not quite as fast as 5.7, but much faster than the first release of CC2015, and it doesn't slow down with time.
