Lightroom Classic: Prevent complaints about deleted xmp files

My default setting in Lightroom Classic is to not save metadata to xmp files. However, sometimes I want to save the metadata to xmp files, do processing on the raw files outside of LR, and then read back the metadata from the xmp files into LR. This works fine for the purpose I use this procedure for.

But there's a catch: when I move the raw files to another folder, LR generates an error message saying that the xmp file is missing; after acknowledging that error message, the files are moved to the intended location.

My question: is there a way to make Lightroom "forget" that the xmp file is missing? Thanks.

Do the following to get rid of the link to missing XMP files

Select the folder you are going to be MOVING FROM

RightClick and select "Syncronize Folder" with the following options selected.

Click Synchronize

You can then see in the metadata panel the XMP link will be gone.  A linked file is shown below.  The Sidecar Files section will disappear after the above process.
