I added a bunch of presets to Lightroom CC Desktop and they Synced to Mobile, but I ended up removing them from my desktop app...and now I can't get them off of my mobile apps, even after I reinstalled the apps, cleared the data and cash....

I ran this by one of our engineers, ShaneImages. If they were deleted inside the Lightroom CC desktop app and the app was allowed to sync they should have been removed across the ecosystem.

How did you delete them?

Did you allow the deletion to sync from Lightroom CC back to the cloud?

Did you get any warning dialogs:

I had this issue as well. As Rikk says, you have to delete them from the Desktop app rather than just remove them.

I had deleted em I thought... sorry I didn't see the follow up till I just got a notification of Dave Pearce's post. They aren't on my desktop any longer, but show up on my mobile apps. I had like over 5000 of em so I can understand the glitchyness of it. On the mobile app I just hid them for a quick fix so I don't have to look at the bug, but I'd love if they were removed/deleted.

it's the second to the last group that I'm talking about. right above user presets.

If you go to http://lightroom.adobe.com and log in with your Adobe ID you can click on an image and select the edit button. Review your presets synced in the web environment.

If they are not in the Lightroom CC Desktop App and they are in the Web, then the App has not synced correctly with the cloud.

If they are not in the Web environment but are on your phone/tablet, then it is the phone/tablet that hasn't synced properly.

Which scenario do you have?

Verify both the web account and the desktop app account are logged into the same Adobe ID.  Make sure you have syncing turned on in the desktop app and allow it to sync.

they are logged into the same account, and it says everything is synced and backed up....not sure if there's a special toggle to turn it on, I thought it was automatic.

When you deleted the presets originally, exactly how did you do that? Can you describe for me the steps?

I was trying to organize... but couldn't figure a simple way to add or group presets so I uploaded 1 group at a time to the the User Presets then renamed the "User Preset" group to whatever I wanted... then later when one of the groups weren't syncing properly to my mobile app  I decided that there were too many presets and tried to delete all the ones I uploaded. I was in the desktop app, right clicked the group, and selected the delete option. It worked for most of em, but there were a few that didn't delete. It was a time consuming process.

looking at it now, the presets on the web are slightly different from the ones on my mobile app.

At this point, I would recommend signing out of each client pausing for a couple of minutes and then signing back in again. Give the entire system some time to sync and see if the presets come into line.

Are the missing presets inside your User Presets folder in the Web environment?

ShaneImages,

Is there any chance you've deleted any of these presets via the OS? Finder/Explorer deletes instead of deleting within the app can cause some sync issues.

To be honest I don't 100% remember. It's a possibility.

Let's regroup a bit here.

If you review the web app against the mobile device app and leave the desktop app out of it for a moment, what do you see?

Is there anything on the web app that has not synced to the phone?
Is there anything on the phone/tablet that is not in the web?

Keep in mind as you are cross-checking that if a preset uses a profile that requires a raw file, that preset will not show up for a JPEG, Tiff, PSD or PNG.  Make sure that anything appears missing does't fall into that category.

here's a late but new update... I updated my lightroom mobile today, put on my headphones and deleted all the presets I added individually.... everything is almost synced, but there are 5pre-sets left on the lightroom web client that aren't on desktop or mobile.

update, I was able to finally sync the presets off... but I noticed, I'm missing some presets on the web app that are on the desktop and mobile apps. But I feel hopeful. no big deal. I think I will try to resync em.

well, I fixed it to the best of my abilities, I deleted all the presets I made from the desktop, mobile and web apps....I'm just going to start a new. Hopefully the future presets sync up.
