Premiere Elements: shuts down when attempting to select a save location

When creating a new project in PRE10, when selecting to browse to select a project save location, the software returns an Application Error: The instruction at "0x005f150e" referenced memory at "0x00000014." The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug. Clicking either one shuts down the program. This happens on two computers -- one running XP and one running Windows 7, but not on others on the same network.

My Adobe Premiere Elements on Mac OS X also crashes pretty often, I made an export to H264 and it's stuck on background at 45%. Adobe could do something more like iMovie but with video quality of Adobe, unfortunately Mac users don't have much choice these days :(.
