I installed Premiere elements 12.
Initiated the software but got the message that the graphics card driver had to be updated. Did this. Initiated software again.
Got the same message.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the software.
Still getting same message.
Ive read the forums. So searched for the .txt file that said "bad driver".
Can't find it.

I'm working on Win 7, HP laptop with Intel i5 processor and Radeon graphics card (with latest drivers)

Kinda disappointed so far with the product.

Did you update the driver from AMD's website?
Updating from Microsoft or HP is likely to get you drivers that are years out of date.

Hi Chis,

Thanks for the tip. And you're right, of course. The driver version in my laptop dates to 2011.
I found and tried to download the latest driver from the AMD website but the laptop won't allow it to install.
I checked my driver version against the recommended version for my laptop on the HP site, and the version installed is the one they recommend.
So, I'm in driver limbo, still unable to get started on Premiere.

On a forum, I saw someone suggested uninstalling the driver that's currently installed, then replacing it with the latest one from AMD. Anyone done this? What are the risks?

Any alternative suggestions?

Really appreciate your help.
